Our ceremony will be unplugged (no cell phones, please). We will celebrate our marriage within a Nuptial Mass, including scripture readings, prayers, a homily, and the celebration of the Eucharist. The ceremony will last about one hour, and we are grateful to share this sacred moment with you.

What kind of ceremony will take place?
Dowling’s at The Carlyle is located on the ground floor of the hotel, just off the main lobby, making it easy to find from the entrance. You’ll be greeted with dark wood, leather seating, and curated artwork that create a warm, inviting space. The venue feels formal yet approachable. The menu features elevated American fare alongside French-inspired classics, many presented tableside for a touch of theater. Guests should plan to dress elegantly—black‑tie attire is appropriate and complements the sophisticated setting. Overall, guests can expect an intimate, polished, and memorable experience steeped in classic New York style.

What’s the venue like?
Transportation will be arranged from our suggested hotels to the ceremony, and then from the ceremony to the reception. Departure times will be released closer to the wedding date.

Historical averages say daytime temperatures are usually in the mid-70s to low-80s°F, with cooler mornings and evenings that can dip into the 60s. Humidity is often lower than in July and August, making it feel more comfortable overall. It’s generally a pleasant time of year, but there may be wind, there may be rain.
